A Latte for One, A Life for Another
When you sponsor a child with Tumaini Children's Project, the money you would spend to buy a latte for two weeks, will provide a month’s worth of education, clothing and medicine for a Kenyan orphan in need.
As a volunteer-run charity, we have no overhead costs. All money donated goes directly to support our programs in the field to the direct benefit of TCP’s children. Volunteer staff members pay their own way, using none of the organization’s funding.
Sponsor a child today and give yourself the chance to play an impactful role in their lives. You'll get to know your sponsored child and watch them grow and flourish before your eyes!
Where Does the Money Go?
Sponsoring a child in primary school through TCP entails 12 monthly payments* per year of $50 CDN. High school sponsorships are $125/month. 100% of your contribution goes to support your sponsored child – we do not currently charge administrative fees.
Basic Necessities & Education
Your sponsorship will cover all the costs associated with sending your sponsored child to primary school, including: buying books and school supplies, paying for boarding fees, and covering the cost of clothing - including uniform, shoes, etc.
Medicine & Projects
Your contributions also help to cover basic medical expenses (where applicable), including the purchase of specialized drugs for children living with HIV.
Funding also supports small projects in the community. To read more, visit our Projects page.
*To ensure administrative effiicency, we encourage sponsors to make use of the recurring payment feature on our website. We do ask you to make a one year commitment to the child you are sponsoring, as it is challenging for us to find new sponsors for them mid-year.
Expectations of Sponsored Children
In return for your commitment to your sponsored child, they are required to maintain solid academic performance on an ongoing basis.
Our partners in Kenya visit the school to check on the children, and we verify their performance at the end of each semester. We also work with the school themselves to ensure that they are upholding proper standards of education and care for the children.
